Built on solid foundations since 1979, we are a family owned and operated business, and a trusted leader in quality concrete works in the commercial sector.
For 47 years we’ve serviced South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales, and grown to be one of the most successful concrete companies in the region. We’re a preferred contractor to developers, builders and architects.
We pride ourselves on an efficient, cost effective service and quality workmanship. Concrete, pump and labour are supplied together, and we’re always available to share our expertise so every project is completed on time, on budget and to the highest standards.

Our history
Four decades on the same coast
We’ve been building here since before most of the skyline existed. Three generations, one family, the same trade.
1979
The start
Ray McDonald starts Penguin Concrete Construction on the Gold Coast, laying slabs and footings for local builders through the region's first big growth decade, and taking on large-scale residential work for Hooker Homes.
1989
Into industrial
We move into tilt panel construction and the industrial side of the trade, completing large-scale tilt panel factories across South East Queensland.
1998
The second generation
Kane and Jay take over the business on Ray's retirement, and keep growing the company and the name he built.
2017
Built for high-rise
We narrow our focus to large-scale commercial high-rise, supplying concrete, pump and labour as our core offer. One specialist job done tightly, so the program keeps moving.
Today
The next chapter
We remain a big part of how the Gold Coast and Northern NSW get built, and we're set for our next period of growth: more high-rise, more of the coast's landmark projects, and a hand in the skyline still to come.
